Zanthoxylum hamiltonianum
Purpure timur as it’s called by the local people, this age-old culinary spice is in the same family as the traditional Ayurvedic plant Zanthoxylum armatum, but is mostly used in dhal soups for it’s healing, aromatic essential oils and flavor it adds to any soup base.
Piper longum
Pipla as it’s called by the local Nepalese people. Part of the pepper family has a hot energy that is good for circulation and digestion. This highly aromatic, culinary spice is great as a natural stimulant for the lungs. It helps open the bronchial respiratory passageways. Used for centuries by the Himalayan people who suffer from chronic cough and asthma, as well as help reaching higher altitude during travel. Primarily used as tea infusions.
